The instruction for this simple sack intrigued me. It can be used as gift pouch. Two squares are sewn together, two lines from each corner sewn and a cord pulled through. Finished. Doesn't it look lovely?

From the visit to Val D'argent September 2016 I brought back Moda fabric and a pattern of XOXOX which I decided to change around a bit. I added a charm pack that I had for a while. The hubby and I decided on three panels and I opted for the disappearing 9-patch looking for a tone in tone effect. As always patchwork looks much better. This is only a smartphone photo. But over all we both like it quite a bit. The rods were custom made by a local artist.

Sometimes it takes longer than it should. Life gets in the way. I bought this quilt kit from a wonderful quilt shop in Amsterdam back in 2013. The design is a reproduction of a historic quilt. "Bladzijde 147". The fabrics are cotton and chintz. I adjusted the original design for my purpose. Maybe I needed a new quilting buddy before I could finally finish it. I am waiting for the hanging rods to mount it to the wall. So this is how it looks for now.

"They are pretty - but what do you do with them?" I was asked. They are Christmas decoration. Just to look at and be pretty. And they will make great little gifts.
